Professional or student identity and commitment? Comparing the experiences of nursing students with literature on student success

Abstract Improving the rates of continuation and completion nursing students is a priority to ensure there are sufficient qualified staff deliver national healthcare services. In literature, which predominantly informed by research undertaken in traditional HE institutions with studying conventional academic programmes, development student identity course commitment identified as key components persistence success.
